The Wellesley community in Short Pump, built in the late 1980s and early 1990s, is widely considered the Richmond area’s first planned community. In this vast, sprawling neighborhood, you’ll find a wide variety of houses and townhomes at various price points, all tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the Far West End, but also incredibly close to all of the conveniences it affords residents. Let’s take a look at what there is to see and do around Wellesley, shall we?
Eating & Drinking
Anokha Cuisine of India – The robust flavors of India come alive at Anokha, located in the Shoppes at Westgate. Whether visiting for lunch or dinner, you’ll find something to suit your tastes. Try the rich and delicious Konkani Crabmeat Curry, flavorful Chicken Tikka Masala, or the Lamb Mushroom Curry. Then again you can’t really go wrong with anything here!
Patina Restaurant & Bar – Centrally located and walkable to most of the community, Patina Restaurant & Bar offers up awesome craft cocktails and contemporary American fare in a unique and relaxed setting. You’ll feel right at home right up the street. In fact, the restaurant’s new owner is a neighbor! Try the seared duck breast, shrimp and grits, seared lamb belly, or lamb sausage mostaccioli for a delicious meal.
Seeing & Doing
Fido Park Avenue – Surely one of the most unique retail outfits in Short Pump, Fido Park Avenue is exactly what it sounds like–a boutique dog shop. Sure, they’ve got the basics you need to keep your pooch happy and healthy, but they specialize in upscale, luxury products and accessories that will keep fido as fashionable as you whether on the town or on the road.
Short Pump Park – This newly-expanded county park has something for everyone. From the restored circa 1903 Deep Run Schoolhouse to an aquatic “sprayground” and walking trails to sports fields, this is probably the best and most convenient park to Wellesley and offers fun for the whole family.
